Looking For A Place to Hang Our Hats

Philippians 4:6-7

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Life is filled with being busy! 
You are either busy at home, busy with work, or both! 
Life is filled with being busy! 

For the Wilsons we have decided to see how busy we can be at this particular season in life. Kaleb is busy pursing his degree in Petroleum Engineer, which most of the time sounds like a foreign language.  I am busy with pursuing the title of "Rookie of the Year" at work, which leads to many stressful nights. And yet with all of this wonderful busyness we have also decided to throw a few more curve balls into the ball pin. 

As of this past weekend we are officially on the hunt for our "Dream Home" or as close to that as we can find in the Denver market. The housing market here in Denver is extremely stressful! Houses are going quickly, and many to cash offers. So in order to find a home that we are okay with purchasing, but also knowing that they there is some wiggle room we created our must have list.

Dream Home Must Have List
  • A Fire Place (you can't live in beautiful Colorado and not have a fire place!)
  • Four Bedrooms (room to grow)
  • A Finished Basement (with neither of our families living here it is vital to have a place for them to stay)
  • Room For An 8 Person Dinning Room Table ( I really enjoy hosting the holidays)
  • The Perfect Spot For Our Christmas Tree (I really like Christmas)
As we move through this journey we have decided to daily passionately pray about the home the Lord has for us. We know that he moved us to the Denver area, and we know that he has called us to Harvest Bible Chapel. Now we are passionately praying that he moves us into an area that we can grow with our community, share his word, and raise our little family. We are daily praying for the walls that will someday surround us, the roof that someday will guard us from the storms, and the love that will run wild through that home. 

I am excited to share this next journey with you. :)

My Side Of That Horrific Day

Today is September 1st which in it of itself brings so many wonderful things. The start of football, which is just absolutely perfect, the start of pumpkin spice everything, and the start of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness month. This month is something that honestly up until four years ago I had no idea existed, but four years ago we joined a very rare club and our lives have looked different since. Over 200,000 people live with a SCI in the United States and Kaleb is just one of them. The next month my goal is to share my side of Kaleb's injury, Kaleb's side of his injury, the road to recovery, and where we are today.  November 10th 2012, the day our world changed forever. It's Okay to Not Be Okay

How often do we go through life pretending that everything is great; we post only the best photos, we smile when we would rather cry, and we float through life faking it the best we can. We run into friends at church on Sunday mornings and chat about how wonderful we are and how great everything is, but we leave out the fact that all we could really use is a hug and a gentle reminder that it's perfectly okay to not be okay. In fact the crazy part of it all is it's perfectly normal to go through life with emotions, heck Jesus himself felt emotions. I'm sure we all remember when he got mad in the temple and flipped the table, well in that moment he wasn't okay.
